Google Maps (for Mobile) added Transit Directions
Google Maps for Mobile have added Transit Directions for the city of New York. It will make the life easier for the people who find it difficult to steer via the network of transit stops. You can see all the public direction on your mobile using the Google Maps for Mobile application. Google StreetView in your Pocket!
Now you can access the Google Street View on your Mobile Phones. Google has added new feature to its application for mobiles with support of Street View and walking directions. Note you must have a BlackBerry or Java enabled phone to avail this facility.

Launched of Google’s GeoEye-1 Satellite
As expected Google on 6th of September, launched its own Satellite called GeoEye-1. This means now we get clearer and high resolution picture used in Google Maps. The picture could be as close as “with the capability to show detail within one square foot or so anywhere in the world!”
The images taken by the GeoEye-1 is used in different products of Google, and in applications such as: Internet mapping, Visualization and simulation modeling.
And the data begins to flow in 1 and half to 2 months of time, so it’s all set to see some beautiful and high resolutions pictures on internet in the near future.
