Launched of Google’s GeoEye-1 Satellite



As expected Google on 6th of September, launched its own Satellite called GeoEye-1. This means now we get clearer and high resolution picture used in Google Maps. The picture could be as close as “with the capability to show detail within one square foot or so anywhere in the world!”

The images taken by the GeoEye-1 is used in different products of Google, and in applications such as: Internet mapping, Visualization and simulation modeling.

And the data begins to flow in 1 and half to 2 months of time, so it’s all set to see some beautiful and high resolutions pictures on internet in the near future.
